Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
After earning her undergrad degree, Dr. Kearbey knew she wanted to work in the engineering and/or medical world. She then met two important people in her life, our own Dr. Brandon and another of her closest friends, who were for sure going to be dentists. After learning more about the career, she decided it would be a good fit for her.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
I graduated from Walla Walla University in 2002 with my bachelor's degree in bioengineering. In 2006, I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University. I was awarded the Academic Excellence Gold Award from Loma Linda University as well as the R.L. Fawkes and L.J. Fogel Memorial Award for Excellence in Pathology. After graduating, I worked at a family practice for five years and a children’s clinic for two.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Over the years, I have earned my certification in minimal sedation and through Spear Education attended countless lectures and hands-on workshops in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. As a member of Spear Education’s Faculty Club Elite group I have also taken part in small group in-depth literature studies. To stay current with ever-evolving technology, I have also taken multiple courses in advanced education in CEREC software to provide all levels of digitally based treatments.:
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
I live in Hillsboro, Oregon with my husband, Dr. Brandon, and our two young daughters. Together, we love to go “adventuring.” We have visited Yellowstone, Grand Teton, the Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Arches, and Canyonlands. Recently, Dr. Brandon and I climbed Mount St. Helens and have hiked the Enchantment Core in Leavenworth, Washington. I also enjoy running and have completed multiple half-marathons, obstacle/mud runs, and Spartan races.
