Dental Insurance – Hillsboro, OR
Helping You Maximize Your Coverage
Dental insurance can be a lifesaver for patients who want to keep the costs of their necessary dentistry services within a budget. However, understanding and maximizing your insurance policy can be a nightmare. That’s where our team at The Dentists at Orenco Station come in. We bill almost ALL dental insurances as a courtesy to our patients. We know that this process can be very daunting, but our team members are true experts and at helping you understand and utilize each available benefit. We do our best to clearly outline expected covered benefits and copays.
Please keep in mind that we cannot always predict exact coverage, as dental insurance companies are not always transparent about the coverage for each individual plan. However, we will always do everything we can to help you maximize savings. If you want to get started with demystifying your dental benefit plan, give our Hillsboro dental team a call today. We’ll be happy to answer questions over the phone when possible, and our team will schedule an in-office consultation if necessary to ensure you get the answers you need.
Medical vs. Dental Insurance Coverage
Medical and dental insurance are similar in that each offers coverage for specific services from a group of healthcare professionals. However, medical insurance typically covers a much larger percentage of treatment costs than dental insurance policies. For the most part, medical insurance covers all of the costs of treatment apart from specific copays and/or deductibles in exchange for patients’ payment of monthly insurance premiums. Dental insurance works a little differently. You still pay a monthly premium, but rather than covering the majority of costs for treatments, your dental insurance plan will typically offer a set amount for the year, with varying percentages allocated to preventive care, restorative care, orthodontics, sedation dentistry, and more.
Our Approach to Dental Insurance
The Dentists at Orenco Station is currently in-network with Delta Dental Premier. We personally choose not to contract with most insurance companies, which is an intentional decision. In order to be contracted as a “preferred provider” with insurances, a dentist has to agree to the company’s arbitrarily set fees. These fees do not in any way reflect our practice’s actual costs or high standards of care. If we chose to participate, it would mean that we couldn’t spend as much quality time with each patient, compensate our talented team in the way they deserve, invest in the newest dental technology and continuing education, and use the best materials and labs available.
We are happy to help our patients take advantage of their available benefits, but we don’t believe in creating treatment plans based solely on what dental insurance will cover. When we evaluate someone’s health, we are customizing that evaluation for their unique needs and goals. Once we fully understand what the desired treatment is, we can do our best to align that with available dental benefits!

Financing Options
In addition to helping our patients make the most of their dental benefits, we are also happy to work with our patients to receive financing when they need it. Prior to beginning treatment, we will provide estimates of your benefit coverage and out of pocket treatment costs. On the day of your procedure, we ask that you remit payment in the form of cash, credit, or check.
If you need to spread payments out over several months, our team works with CareCredit. This third-party financier offers low and no interest payment plans for qualified patients. If you would like to learn more about financing through CareCredit, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our knowledgeable team members for help or take a few moments to apply for preapproval online.
